guest presents an expired credit card.
Guest : could I check out now, please?
Clerk : certainly, Sir. Here’s the bill. How are
you paying sir, in cash or by credit card?
Guest : by credit card. Here is my credit card.
Clerk : thank you, sir. But I’m afraid this card is
no longer valid. It expired last month.
Guest : oh, I am sorry that’s the old one. Here is
the new one.
Clerk : thank you. Could you just wait for a
moment, sir.
Guest : that’s fine
The
guest pays by cheque
Guest : I would like to check out now, please. The
name’s Goeltom, room 345.
Clerk : yes, please. How would you like to pay?
Gust :by cheque, is that alright?
Clerk : certainly, sir….here’s the bill.
Guest : thank you
Clerk : could I have your cheque card a moment?
Guest : yes, here you are.
Clerk : thank you. And here’s your receipt.
Guest : thank you very much.
Clerk : thank you, sir. And thank you for staying
with us. We hope you’ll come and stay with us again.
The
clerk gives the wrong bill.
Guest : I am afraid this is not my bill. I didn’t
eat anything from the minibar.
Clerk : I’ll just check through your receipt, sir.
Here we are. Mrs. Tanti, room 722, snacks and drink, Rp. 7.000,00.
Guest : well, that’s no right. My name is Lee and I
was in room 352.
Clerk : I am very sorry, Mrs. Tanti. We seem to
have mixed the bills up. I’ll just deduct Rp. 75.000,00 from your bill.
Guest : well, that’s OK then. Can I pay in
Singaporean dollars?
Clerk : I am very sorry, Mrs. Tanti, we only accept
US dollars.
Guest : alright, then I think I still have some
rupiahs…here you are.
Clerk : thank you and the change is Rp. 15.000,00.
Guest : just keep the change.
Clerk : thank you very much indeed and once again I
must apologize for the wrong bill, Mrs. Tanti.
Guest : it’s okay. This sort of thing can happen
from time to time.
Clerk : thank you, Mrs. Tanti, hope to see you
again.
